Why Growth Hack Twitter?

A little background:

I created a hyper-local marketing Twitter machine. It helped me create the fastest growing Meetup in San Francisco (1,500 members in 5 months!).

The benefit:

1. Ensure many people attend your events

2. Grow your Twitter following

3. Meet thousands of people

4. Generate hundreds of new leads

5. Meet like-minded business professionals

Automating Reach Out

Your journey begins in Audiense, one of the best discovery tools for Twitter. Simply click on Target, then Discover new Twitter users.

BAMF Implementing Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

Using Audiense’s discovery tool, you want to plug-in the relevant city and bio keyword of your target prospect.

Next, you want to ensure they are active on Twitter. To do this, you set the Time Since Last Tweet to 1 month. To weed out spammers, set the Tweets per Day to 25 or less.

Also, select Person, Only public profiles, and the language English (far right screenshot). These settings will ensure you interact with quality and active prospects.

Getting Over the Hurdle

From here, click on All Criteria. It will give you the option to export all of these members into an XLSX file.

BAMF Implementing Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

Automating Reach Out

You want to upload the XLSX file into a Google Sheet. Create two new columns titled Link and Twitter. For Twitter, plug-in the regular Twitter URL. Under Link, you want to combine the username and Twitter URL.

Use the formula “=concat” to combine the columns. To easily fill out the entire column, double-click on the bottom left-hand corner of the cell.

BAMF Implementing Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

On the right-hand side is what the columns look like entirely filled out. Next, you want to copy three of the columns into a new spreadsheet (name, Link, username). They must have these column titles.

The last column is called source. You can put anything here. It’s important to do this; otherwise, you can’t upload the data into Mass Planner. Finally, export the new spreadsheet into a CSV file.

BAMF Implementing Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

Mass Planner

Mass Planner costs $10/month. It will automate your entire Twitter profile. The first step is to connect your Twitter profile, then click on Mention.

Here, you click on Import Members. You want to select the new CSV file you downloaded. From here, you want to fill in a message in Send Mentions To Campaigns. This message will go out to possibly thousands of people.

I try to make the mentions hyper-relevant by including two emotional trigger points – city and job industry. Ensure to use spin syntax to change the message, so it’s not identical for everyone. I suggest five variations.

Click Remove selected members from the list after clicking SEND. This will prevent Twitter users from receiving two of the same mentions. Next, select a Campaign (I’ll show you how to create one in the following slides). Then, click Send to Campaign.

BAMF Implementing Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

Automating Reach Out

A great strategy is to include well-branded links (I use the software Rebrandly). For example, in the message on the bottom, my link contain the phrase “sfsalesmeetup.”

This looks less spammy than a regular Bitly link. More importantly, I have a retargeting Facebook pixel in it (image on the right). If people don’t commit when they click through (i.e. register for the event, opt-in to the landing page), I can still target them with ads on Facebook. The link tracking and retargeting software on the right is called ClickMeter.

To create a campaign, you first need to create a destination list. So, click Add Destination List. In short, you’re choosing where you want the mentions to be published.

BAMF Implementing Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

After you click Add Destination List, you’ll see the different walls you can publish on parallel to the number of social profiles you’ve connected. In this case, you want to connect to the Twitter account where you have the desired settings. Check the appropriate profile and wall to publish on.

Here you want to click Add Campaign. Once you add a campaign, it will then show up when you select a campaign to use for mentions.

BAMF Implementing Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

From here, you want to click When to Publish. Ideally, you don’t want to publish more than thirty similar mentions/day to stay under the radar.

You can also create several fake accounts or use friend/employee accounts to send many hundreds of mentions/day. I like to send the Tweets at specific times that fit well with my audience. Don’t forget to check Publish a Post List item on all selected destinations.

BAMF Implementing Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

Don’t select Re-Add published posts to the end of the Post List. If you do this, then you’ll be sending the same mentions 2X to people.

BAMF Implementing Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

Using More Than One Account

If you’re running more than three Twitter accounts, then use proxies, so Twitter doesn’t catch you. I get my proxies here at http://vip.squidproxies.com. Here’s an example of a proxy set-up in Mass Planner.

BAMF Implementing Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

An excellent strategy is to get each account to like each other’s mentions. This will dramatically increase the click-through rate of each mention since it now has social validation.

Feel free to copy the settings on the right for nurtured accounts. Then, click Sources → next slide.

BAMF Implementing Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

To ensure the accounts are favoriting mentions from your other accounts, put in the right keywords such as “San Francisco Meetup” or “San Francisco Sales Meetup.”

If you have four or five Twitter accounts, you can send over 50 mentions/day with high social validation. How cool is that? Make sure to schedule content (10- 15 pieces) throughout each day to avoid looking like a spammer 🙂

How to Find All the Social Profiles of Your Competitor’s Facebook Group Members

How to Find All the Social Profiles of Your Competitor’s Facebook Group Members

Want all the social profiles of your competitor’s customers?

In this guide, I’ll show you how to get it using Facebook Groups.

You’ll learn how to get their Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter profile URL. Then you’ll learn how to auto-engage with them on those platforms.

Are you ready?

Let’s go.

Step 1. Extract Your Competitor’s Audience from Facebook Groups

Before we begin, it’s important to note that not all of your competitors have a Facebook Group, but many do. Whether they’ve created a group for an upcoming conference or to increase the retention of their SaaS product.

To pull all the data from members of a Facebook Group, including their name, job title, and company name, use the Facebook Extractor Chrome extension. All you need to do is go to the member section of the Facebook Group and run the extension (watch the tutorial in the link).

Here’s what the data looks like when exported into the corresponding spreadsheet:

You want to put the person’s first name and last name together. You can do this by using a Google Add-on Tool called Power Tools. Highlight the first name and last name column, then click the Power Tool’s option, Data.

Here, select Merge values.

Make sure you separate the values with a [Space], then click Merge.

Now you’ll have the first name and last combined.

Next, remove all contact information from the “B,” “C” and “E” columns. This will leave you with the person’s name and company name.

Step 2. Use Phantombuster to Extract Social Profile URLs

The fun part begins now – grabbing all the social profile URLs.

First, hook up the same Google Sheet to Phantombuster’s Instagram Profile URL Finder API. Do this by selecting the three dots under Console. You’ll then have this popup below appear. Fill in the fields.

And again, make sure to put in the editable version of your Google Sheet URL.

Hit Launch.

Depending on how many profile URLs you’re looking to retrieve, this process can take anywhere from a couple of minutes to a few hours.

Once you hit launch, you’ll be taken to this screen below. When all the Instagram profile URLs have been searched, you’ll have the ability to download them into a CSV. Import this CSV back into your Google Sheet. Then copy and paste all the Instagram profile URLs into the column next to the company name column to ensure you have a nice-looking row of data.

Now you want to get all the LinkedIn Profile URLs.

You’ll use the Phantombuster LinkedIn Profile URL Finder API to do this.

As you can see, you just plug in the relevant Google Sheet URL, then fill in the appropriate column and CSV title. Then hit Launch just like you did with the Instagram Profile URL Finder API.

The same process works for Twitter.

The only difference is you’re using the Twitter API.

Now that you have all the social profile URLs of your competitor’s customers, you want to engage with them. The good news: you can automate it.

Step 3. Automate Engagement

Instagram + Twitter:

For Instagram and Twitter following, favoriting, and commenting, I recommend Followliker. It’s the best automation tool online for these platforms. In a few minutes, you can import your custom URL lists to auto-follow all your competitor’s customers while engaging with their content on an ongoing basis. That’s an easy win.

LinkedIn:

For LinkedIn, I recommend using the tool, Linked Helper. At BAMF Media, we use a custom tool just for this purpose as pictured below:

A tool like this one above only costs a couple hundred dollars to outsource.

Facebook:

Since you have their Facebook profile URL from exporting them from the Facebook Group in Step 1, it’s time to Facebook friend them at scale.

First, download this Chrome extension.

Upload your exported list of Facebook URLs into this plugin.

Then click the play button.

The Results

When I started building my brand years ago, I did this process manually. It’s the same process I’ve used to help bootstrap two companies to millions in ARR. That’s why I’ve created these systems to help you save the hundreds of hours that I had to go through building traction channels.

The process should take you no less than a day to set up.

The power is in your hands.

Make it happen.

How to Turn Your Mailing List into Twitter Followers

How to Turn Your Mailing List into Twitter Followers

Earlier on this week I was working with a client who had gathered a load of email addresses from potential customers via an online competition. The client wanted to know the Twitter accounts of the people that had entered to see if there were any influential users in amongst the list – the only catch was that they only had their email addresses.

I spent about 20 minutes searching online to try and find out if you could search for Twitter users by their email address and had no luck. Unless you’re using the API, there was no simple way to do it (so I thought).

After playing around with a few different methods I finally managed to do it, so I thought I’d share my method with you all in case you come up with the same problem!

Note: This can be pretty awesome for encouraging those that have already engaged with you via your mailing list or within your blog comments to then engage with you on social media.

Step 1: Create a New Gmail Account

The first step is to create a random Gmail account – just do this under a fake name.

Step 2: Add the Emails to Your Address Book

Once you’ve set up the Gmail address, click on the Gmail drop-down in the top-left corner (once logged in) and select ‘Contacts’. You can then paste in a list (or upload via .CSV) of your email addresses to your Gmail contact list.

BAMF How to Turn Your Mailing List into Twitter Followers Article Image

Step 3: Create a New Twitter Account Under Your Gmail Address

You’ll now need to quickly set up a Twitter account under the Gmail address that you’ve just set up. Again, this can just be a random name that you do it under.

BAMF How to Turn Your Mailing List into Twitter Followers Article Image

Step 4: Import Your Email Contacts to Twitter

As you go through the account setup stage, you’ll be asked if you want to ‘Find People You Know’ via your email accounts. This is where you can ask Twitter to search through your Gmail contacts. Find any Twitter accounts that have been setup under the email addresses you have within your address book. Your Twitter account will then automatically follow them.

BAMF How to Turn Your Mailing List into Twitter Followers Article Image

Step 5: Download a List of Your Followers via Followerwonk

The final step is to take a trip over to Followerwonk. Navigate to the ‘Analyze Followers’ tab. Then type in the Twitter handle of the account that you’ve just created. Next, ‘analyze users they follow’.

BAMF How to Turn Your Mailing List into Twitter Followers Article Image

You’ve now got a list of all the Twitter accounts associated to the email addresses that you’ve gathered. You can now sift through and start engaging with influential users that have been exposed to your brand already – simple!

Tired of traction channels that require your time?

When looking for new customers, there’s no reason to search for them when you can go to existing sources like your competitor’s fan base.

Now imagine if you could start conversations with your competitor’s fans on Twitter without lifting a finger. You could sit back and relax while receiving more leads, conversions, and generate brand awareness. Does it get any better?

Through automating my Twitter account, I created a hyper-local marketing machine. It helped me build the fastest growing Meetup in San Francisco (1,500 members in 5 months!). This machine also helped me get thousands of people to my events, grew my Twitter following by over one thousand people, and generated hundreds of new leads.

Find & Engage Influencers

To get high-level results, you have to know the top people in your industry on Twitter. You can search for industry influencers using the social discovery and interaction tool, Audiense (you can get a free trial here). To start the search process, click Target then Discover new Twitter Users:

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

Using Audiense’s discovery tool, you want to plug-in the relevant location and bio keyword(s) of your target prospect. Next, you want to ensure they are active on Twitter. To do this, you set the Time Since Last Tweet to 1 month. And to weed out spammers, set the Tweets per Day to 25 or less.

Finally, select Person, Only public profiles, and the language English (far right of the screenshot).

These settings will ensure you find active influencers in your niche:

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

From here, you want to find the usernames of those who you think have a valuable audience you’d like to interact with. Once you have that list, download Mass Planner. The software is compatible with PC, but you need a VPS for Mac. In the software, connect your Twitter account.

If your Twitter account is semi-active, then copy the Settings below in the Follow section:

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

Next, click Follow Sources. From here, you want plug-in the usernames you gathered from Audiense. You can choose to interact with those username’s followings:

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

Then, you want to jump into Unfollow. From here, if If your Twitter account is active, then copy the settings below:

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

To take it a step further, you can favorite people who Tweet about your competitor by selecting specific keywords in the Sources section.

Feel free to copy the settings below for favoriting:

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

In the Retweet section, you can set up a reply to tweets based on keywords. So, if one of your competitor’s customers complain, then you can be the first to Tweet them. Just picture what they would think your customer service is like compared to your competitor.

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

Now you have several ways to interact with your competitors’ fans almost entirely automated. Keep in mind that you must follow-up with most people who respond to your replies, follows, and favorites. This is part of nurturing your relationships with people, so they’ll turn into customers.

TIME TO DOMINATE

I just explained a few advanced tactics of Twitter automation, but it’s time to take it up several levels. So, let’s say you don’t want to interact with all of a specific influencer’s followers, you just want to interact with their followers with specific keywords in their bio, from specific countries, and have a certain follower ratio. Now you can do that and a whole lote more.

From the first part of the tutorial, plug-in your competitor’s Twitter URLs into the Mass Planner Contact section (you can also use Twitter List URLS). Then, set the scroll rate to 600 – 10,000 seconds depending on the size of the audience you’re exporting.

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

In this example, I import my own following into Mass Planner. Under Use Members I can see all the imported members.

Now, click on “Export Selected” to put all these people into an Excel file to clean up.

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

In the Excel file, delete all the columns except the one with the Twitter URL. From here, click “Text to Columns” under Excel’s Data tab. You want to separate the column by the slashes “/” to clean the data.

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

You’ll now have an entire column of just usernames. Delete all the others columns.

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

Once you delete the other columns, add an “@” symbol to the front of every username.

You can do this using the Concatenate formula as seen below:

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

Now, copy the usernames with the @ signs and paste them into a new Excel file using “paste values.”

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

From here, save your new list of usernames as a CSV file.

Here comes the magic:

In Audience, click on Target in the menu bar, then Text file.

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

Now, click on Upload a file and select your CSV file.

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

You’ll now see a comprehensive overview of the users.

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

Click All members in the top left-hand corner.

Now, I can see all the exported members in Audiense’s discovery tool. Here, I can reduce the audience to a specific group of people based on many different demographics. In this example, I include the word “founder” in the bio. As a result, I see I only have 194 followers who have the word “founder” in their bio. Now, I can click All Criteria Export XLSX to get a file of these Twitter users.

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

You want to upload the XLSX file into a Google Sheet.

Create two new columns titled Link and Twitter. For Twitter, plug-in the regular Twitter URL. Under Link, you want to combine the username and Twitter URL. Use the formula “=concat” to combine the columns. To easily fill out the entire column, double click on the bottom left-hand corner of the cell.

It’s important to do this; otherwise, you can’t upload the data into Mass Planner. Finally, export the new spreadsheet into a CSV file.

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

Now, you can follow these people using Mass Planner by selecting “Follow people from a provided list.” Next, click “Import” located below this section to select your brand new CSV file of your competitor’s followers with the keyword “founder” in their profile.

BAMF Advanced Twitter Marketing Automation Article Image

Note: If you want to auto mention these select people at scale, then check out this guide starting at slide eight:

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1ST–kK3KfNd7HXPYlc0Mqf0mYIDqHKzvEnCZOtxPxig/edit?usp=sharing

With the steps I outlined, you can automate interaction with the most specific users on Twitter. Just to give you an idea, I can take HubSpot’s Twitter list of 2015 Inbound Attendees (https://twitter.com/HubSpot/lists/inbound15-tweeters), then segment it down to those still active on Twitter.

I can further dial it down to those who have the phrase “growth marketer” in their bio, are not a company, live in the U.S.,  and have a good Twitter ratio. From here, I can automate following and favoriting them. The power is in your hands. Use it wisely 😉

How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions

How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions

Sending One Million Twitter Mentions is not as difficult as you think.

Before beginning, let me tell you what are we going to discuss.

  • Creating Fake Accounts.
  • Find & Engage.
  • Mass Planner Export.
  • Importing Profiles Into Mass Planner.
  • Setting up Auto Mention Campaigns.
  • Rotating Content.
  • Start Your Campaigns.
  • How to Set Up Profile Automation.
  • Adding Profiles & Settings at Scale.
  • Adding Proxies.
  • What’s Next?.

Lets us begin.

Tired of traction channels that require your time?

When looking for new customers, there’s no reason to search for them when you can go to existing sources and scale your outreach campaigns.

Imagine if you could start conversations with your potential customers on Twitter without lifting a finger. You could sit back and relax while receiving more leads, conversions, and generate brand awareness. Does it get any better?

For legal purposes, I do not condone any of the tactics listed here.

Just kidding lol!

Creating Fake Accounts

Because Twitter requires email and phone verification, I use Google Voice for extra phone numbers and Rackspace for extra email accounts. Both are relatively easy to set up and have their own tutorials.

To send one million auto mentions in several months, you’ll need around 250 fake accounts. They’re relatively easy to create. I use my picture and a shorter version of my name for each one. When people search”Josh F” it pulls up thousands of results. In turn, no one can tell through searching profiles that there are many similar ones. They can only tell if you use a unique name.

If you have over fifty profiles, I suggest changing up your name a bit. I might use a name like “Adam W.” or “Jake L.”

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

To gain social validation, I pay $5 on Fiverr to get two thousand plus followers. I’ll do this over and again until all the profiles have social validation. To increase your click-through rate, I suggest making your bio relevant to the people you’re marketing towards. Most of my profiles have an identical bio because I concentrate on one niche at a time.

Note: Do not use real pictures of other people. It’s a crime to impersonate someone else.

Find & Engage

There are four targeting options when choosing who to mention. You can target people based off an Audiense search result, Mass Planner export, Twitter List, and another profile’s followers.

1. Audiense Search Result

Use the social discovery and interaction tool, Audiense (you can get a free trial here). To start the search process, click Target then Discover new Twitter Users:

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

Using Audiense’s discovery tool, you want to plug-in the relevant location and bio keyword(s) of your target prospect. Next, you want to ensure they are active on Twitter. To do this, set the Time Since Last Tweet to 1 month. And to weed out spammers, set the Tweets per Day to 25 or less.

Finally, select Person and the language English (far right of the screenshot).

These settings will ensure you find active and relevant people  in your niche:

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

IMPORTANT: You want to separate all your exports by location (200%+ click-through rate)

This will help you create more personalized mentions by including locality. To export the list just click on “All Criteria” and then “Export XLSX.”

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

Once you export your first list, download Mass Planner. The software is compatible with PC, but you need a VPS for Mac. In the software, connect your Twitter account.

I’ll show you how to upload your resulting list in one of the later sections.

Mass Planner Export

I don’t recommend this way because I see, at least, a 200% increase in the click-through rate when I use the person’s locality in an auto mention. Mass Planner export doesn’t provide locality, but it’s a fast way to target customers and followers of a company.

In Mass Planner, you can export followers of a specific username or members of a Twitter list under the Contact section. Simply input the URL of the Twitter list or Twitter profile, set the “Scroll for search page” to 9,000 plus, then click Extract Members.

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

Next, go to Use Members and click “Export Selected” to receive an Excel doc of all the usernames.

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

In the Excel file, delete all the columns except the one with the Twitter URL. From here, click “Text to Columns” under Excel’s Data tab. You want to separate the column by the slashes “/” to clean the data. We go through this process to ensure the data can be uploaded into Audiense.

Now, I can click All Criteria Export XLSX to get a file of these Twitter users.

Use Audiense to Analyze a Public Twitter List or 3rd Party Twitter Account

In Audience, click on Target in the menu bar, then Other Twitter lists or Twitter account. From here, you’ll have the option to examine different sources.

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

Once Audiense is done analyzing, you’ll see a comprehensive overview of the users.

Click All members in the top left-hand corner.

Importing Profiles into Mass Planner

You want to upload the Audiense XLSX file into a Google Sheet.

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

Next, you want to copy three of the columns into a new spreadsheet (name, Link, username). They must have these column titles. The last column is called source. You can put anything here. It’s important to fill this column all the way out with text; otherwise, you can’t upload the data into Mass Planner. Finally, export the new spreadsheet into a CSV file.

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

Now, download the CSV file.

Go to you Twitter profile in Mass Planner, then click Mention.

Here, click on Import Members. You want to select the new CSV file you downloaded.

Fill in a message in Send Mentions To Campaigns. This message will go out to possibly thousands of people.

I try to make the mentions hyper-relevant by including two emotional trigger points – city and job industry.

Ensure to use spin syntax to change the message, so it’s not identical for everyone.

Click Remove selected members from the list after clicking SEND. This will prevent Twitter users from receiving two of the same mentions.

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

Here’s an example of a Message Text I use with Syntax when sending mentions to over thirty thousand people.

Notice how I interchange among twenty URLs:

hey {want to join|are you in|have you seen|what do you think about|did you know about} this {secret|active|exclusive} {Facebook Group|FB Group|Facebook community|FB community} with over {1000+|one thousand} {founders|marketers} in {SF|San Francisco} and {epic content|growth hacks|great tips|startup tips}? {http://growth.chat/facebookgroup|http://growth.chat/fbgroup|http://growth.chat/facebook|http://growth.chat/group|http://growth.chat/foundergroup|http://growth.chat/marketers|http://growth.chat/fb|http://growth.chat/community|http://growth.chat/marketing|http://growth.chat/founder|http://growth.chat/founderz|http://growth.chat/foundr|http://growth.chat/thefbgroup|http://growth.chat/fbcommunity|http://growth.chat/convo|http://growth.chat/room|http://growth.chat/circle|http://growth.chat/class|http://growth.chat/twitter|http://growth.chat/tw}

Example output: “@jondoe Hey want to join this secret FB Group with over 1000+ founders in SF and epic growth hacks? http://growth.chat/thefbgroup”

I use Rebrandly to buy a couple of branded domains, then create different URL strings with the same destination. Branded links look less spammy than Bitly links resulting in a higher click-through rate. In the example Message Text  above, all the URLs redirect to my Facebook Group. I suggest having 20-30 URLs for every thirty thousand auto mentions scheduled.

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

Next, select a Campaign.

To create a campaign, you first need to create a destination list. So, click Add Destination List. In short, you’re choosing where you want the mentions to be published. You want a new destination for every Twitter account.

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

After you click Add Destination List, you’ll see the different walls you can publish on parallel to the number of social profiles you’ve connected. In this case, you want to connect to the Twitter account where you have the desired settings. Check the appropriate profile and wall to publish on.

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

Here’s what your destination lists will look like when scheduling 30,000 auto mentions:

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

Now you want to click Add Campaign. Once you add a campaign, it will then show up when you select a campaign to use for mentions. Ensure you label this campaign by Twitter profile and whether it’s “Content” or “Mention.”

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

Setting up Auto Mention Campaigns

After you setup your destination lists, click Send to Campaign. Select the Mention campaign specific to the Twitter profile. Once you click Send to Campaign, your mentions will be uploaded under Post Lists of that campaign.

DON’T select “Re-Add published posts to the end of the Post List.”

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

Under Where to Publish, select the corresponding destination (the Twitter profile’s timeline you want the content to publish on).

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

To schedule your content, click on When to Publish. I start with six mentions/day during times when people are more likely awake, then scale it to 25/mentions day over the span of several weeks. Make sure to check “Publish a Post List Item on all selected destinations.” If not, then the post won’t have a place to get published 🙂

Rotating Content

What is a “Content” campaign? To make your fake profiles look active (not fake lol), I rotate 100 pieces of content on the profile.

To find this content, I use BuzzSumo. In the article, I click the Tweet button, then copy and paste the description into the text field here. Next, I download an image from the article and upload it to Imgur. I then place it under the “Image Link 1” column field.

I use the same content for up to thirty profiles. First I create a new campaign and properly name it. Then, as seen in the screenshot below, I click on the button at the bottom, “Import Posts From CSV.” I then upload the CSV file with all 100 posts.

BAMF How to Send One Million Twitter Mentions Article Image

All your content will now appear under Posts List. Make sure to click “Re-Add published posts to the end of the Post List.”

Under Where to Publish, select the corresponding destination (the Twitter profile’s timeline you want the content to publish on).

How often should post organic content every day? Five or six times a day. And again, make sure to select “Publish a Post List Item on all selected destinations;” otherwise, nothing will get published.

Start Your Campaigns

Once your “rotating content” and “mention” campaign are ready, then go to Overview section of your campaign and click “Start Publishing” to begin automated Twitter posting.

HOWEVER, you want to wait until all your accounts have social validation (Fiverr followers) and automation running.

How to Set Up Profile Automation

Copy these Follow Settings.

Now, click on Follow Sources. Here you want to plug-in one or two common keywords. Keep in mind, the people who you follow don’t have to be relevant to your niche. To effectively send one million mentions, you just need your account to look active. This means having a follower ratio of 2:1.

To not look spammy, make sure each account is following different keywords. I’ll have one account follow people with the keyword “entrepreneur” and another follow people with the keyword “marketing.”

To further make your account look active, you want to be retweeting content. I retweet five pieces of content every day. Feel free to copy the settings I have below 🙂

Under Retweet Sources, I select popular news outlets in tech. I chose to retweet popular news outlets because the content is “safe.” You don’t know what you’ll end up retweeting if you rely on non-media outlet content. Because these media outlets Tweet so much content, you only need nine sources for every thirty Twitter accounts.

Next, you want to automate favoriting. Feel free to copy the settings below.

Click Sources to choose what you’ll be favoriting. If you have fifteen automated accounts, I suggest inputting forty sources here, including your other fake accounts. Because your fake accounts will be interacting with each other, the account will look more active since they’ll have engagement (favorites) on their content. In turn, it will increase your click-through rate.

Adding Profiles & Settings at Scale

DO NOT INPUT SETTINGS MANUALLY FOR EVERY PROFILE.

You can copy your Twitter settings for one profiles to as many as you want. At the bottom of the screenshot below, click on “Copy Settings.” It will then ask you which accounts you want to copy the setting over to.

You also want to do this with Campaigns. With Campaigns you can duplicate them. This is perfect for not having to upload a CSV file of content for many campaigns.

Just click on “Clone” and it will duplicate the campaign for you.

Adding Proxies

If you’re running more than three Twitter accounts, then use proxies, so Twitter doesn’t catch you. I get my proxies here at http://vip.squidproxies.com.

Here’s an example of a proxy set-up in Mass Planner. When doing big campaigns, I use one proxy for every two Twitter accounts.

What’s Next?

If each one of your Twitter accounts sends out 25 mentions/day and you run 15 accounts, then you’re sending out…

375 mentions/day

2,625 mentions/week

136,875 mentions/year

You can easily 10X this with enough proxies, URL strings, and rotating content. The power is in your hands  🙂

Download this Python script to clean your data: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2YTRN139ys4VXlMRGtkckpKV0k/view?usp=sharing

Follow this process:

The script automatically processes all CSV files in the current directory:

– put a copy of the script into a folder with CSV files which need to be processed.

– open the terminal and navigate to this directory (eg. type ‘cd <space bar>’ and drag-and-drop the directory to the terminal).

– run ‘python organize.py’.

– results will appear in the same directory, with the filenames starting from “clean_”.

BOOM! You have social profile info, job details, and city info for all your contacts.
